The Lafayette fire stations will soon shed the austere church bingo announcement look of their exterior signage in favor of a stylish, vibrant motif as the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District continues to upgrade its facilities. New signs sport the updated district logo and the same deep red paint applied on the stations themselves. The signage upgrade project began in early February with Fire Station 2, adjacent to district headquarters in Pleasant Hill.
Wendy Riley, ConFire facilities manager, said that Fire Station 15 should receive its upgraded sign in March, with Fire Station 17 to follow later this year.
