A three-alarm fire — preliminarily is being blamed on squatters — destroyed a 100-year-old, three-story abandoned home in downtown Vallejo Tuesday morning. With barricades up along Sonoma Boulevard near Virginia Street for Caltrans road work, and at Georgia Street for filming of the Netflix show “13 Reasons Why” also going on Tuesday morning, the emergency vehicles, barricades and flashing lights that closed off York and Sutter streets added to the appearance of a war or disaster zone for a few hours downtown. Calls came in around 6:45 a.m. about the blaze at the circa early 1900s structure at the corner of Sutter and York streets, which fire officials already knew was unsafe to enter, because of a fire some months ago, a department spokesman said.
