A man is suspected of trying to burn down a house in Oildale.
A fire was started both Wednesday night and Thursday during the afternoon at a house on Esther Drive. “(There were) booby traps set up inside, with propane tanks and the like," Eckroth said. "It’s not a terrorist act towards others, we don’t believe, but it was just a matter of he was trying to officially burn the house down.”
Kern County deputies made an arrest. The man, whose name was withheld, is suspected of setting both fires and has been arrested on suspicion of committing arson.
