Six of the Pasadena Fire Department’s eight fire stations in the City do not conform with current California building codes, a preliminary report by the fire department shows. The report is agendized to be presented to the City Council’s Public Safety Committee when it meets Wednesday after a series of cancellations. The Committee’s last scheduled meeting on October 2 was cancelled 15 minutes before it was to convene after a quorum could not be mustered.. In the preliminary report, the Fire Department said WLC Architects conducted a Citywide fire station structural assessment in 2011 using ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) seismic standards as the basis.
