About eight acres of brush burned Thursday in Olema, near the junction of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Shoreline Highway in West Marin. The fire started around 4:25 p.m. on the road on the south side of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in grassy oak woodlands, said the Marin County Fire Department. The fire was 30 percent contained within about two hours. Five engines, two water tenders, one bulldozer, one medic unit, and two battalion chiefs responded to the scene from the county and Inverness departments. CalFire aircraft also responded.
