On March 27, 2018, the Imperial County Board of Supervisors announced the appointment of Alfredo Estrada as the Imperial County Fire Chief / Office of Emergency Services Coordinator.
A native of El Centro, Chief Estrada will oversee the safety of approximately 4,600 square miles that incorporate Imperial County including special contracts with Brawley, Holtville, Imperial, Westmorland and Salton Sea Community Service area. He will lead 92 employees representing the Imperial County Fire Department and Office of Emergency Services.
Chief Estrada began his fire service career in 1998 with the Imperial County Fire Department. Prior to his appointment as Chief, he continually worked his way up through the ranks serving as Deputy Chief of Training, Fire Marshall, Fire Captain, Firefighter Engineer and Reserve Firefighter.
