A 20-year-old woman who fell and injured her leg while hiking Sunday with some friends in the Aliso and Wood Canyon Wilderness Park was airlifted to a hospital by firefighters, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
The rescue on Car Wreck Trail took place about 11 a.m., OCFA Capt. Steve Concialdi told City News Service.
“The woman slipped on a rock and her friends called 911 to get her help,” Concialdi said.
An OCFA ground crew began to make their way to her, but before they arrived an air rescue helicopter reached the location and paramedics were dropped down to treat the woman.
When the ground crew finally made it, the woman was airlifted out of the park and taken to Mission Hospital for treatment, Concialdi added.
Her condition wasn’t immediately available.
