Hemet Fire Chief Scott Brown is back on duty after he was placed on administrative leave March 27. Brown was back at work Monday morning, April 9, but it’s still unclear exactly why he was put on paid leave. Both he and City Manager Allen Parker said he did nothing wrong. “This was not punitive,” Brown said by phone Monday. “I’m glad to be back as the fire chief and look forward to continuing our effort to improving and reforming the fire department.” Parker said Brown has his full support. “The chief’s leave was not disciplinary in nature,” Parker wrote in an email. “Rather, it was to give both the chief as well as myself some time to reflect on the team building training for the Fire Department’s management and supervisory personnel and to determine the best method for leading the department into the future.”
