A small brush fire that ignited Monday night in the hills northwest of Lake Mathews has been fully contained, and firefighters have cleared the location, CalFire officials reported Tuesday morning.
The fire consumed nearly 21 acres. Initial multiple reports came in at 6:18 p.m. Monday about a fire burning in light grass south of the 16000 block of Village Meadow Drive. The fire, dubbed the Meadow fire, was being held by a road and was 60 percent contained by about 10:35 p.m., according to fire officials.
