Firefighters discovered a body while battling a structure fire in Old Town Victorville early Thursday morning. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Cindy Bachman told the Daily Press that the fire was reported at approximately 2:28 a.m. in the 15200 block of Tracy Street. The fire was in a commercial building on the southwest corner of Tracy and Seventh streets that was boarded up and appeared to be abandoned, Bachman said. “Upon entry into the building, they found a body inside,” Bachman said. County Fire personnel knocked down the blaze and the Sheriff’s Bomb/Arson Unit was requested to assist with the investigation. The cause of the fire is still unknown. Southbound lanes of Seventh Street were still blocked off at Tracy Street as of 10 a.m. as officials continued to investigate the scene.
