Two firefighters were hospitalized Monday evening with minor injuries after their fire engine was involved in a crash with a pickup truck in Temecula.
The crash was reported just before 10 p.m. in front of Fire Station 92 in the 32000 block of Wolf Valley Road, said April Newman of the Riverside County Fire Department.
The northbound lanes of Wolf Valley Road were blocked for roughly two hours after the crash, which was near Pechanga Parkway and the Pechanga Resort and Casino, according to a witness.
Ambulances transported the two firefighters to an area hospital for evaluation, Newman said. There were no other injuries reported.
A witness reported the female driver of the pickup declined medical treatment, and the fire engine appeared to have visible damage to a rear lower tool box, located behind the passenger side rear wheels, and was also leaking a significant amount of water from the tank/pump area.
