Butte County Fire Safe Council scrambling for funding

An important Butte County fire prevention organization is asking the community for help. The Butte County Fire Safe Council is being denied reimbursement for a project that's costing the council more than $100,000. The Butte County Fire Safe Council works on fire safety projects county-wide. The council is concerned about a finished 18-month project that has not been completely reimbursed. The council applied for the Wildland Urban Interface grant in July 2013 which totals to $260,855. The grant was designed to be a partnership with Yankee Hill Fire Safe Council.
