In the spirit of fighting cancer, reserve firefighter Colton Ferguson is in Seattle representing the Red Bluff Fire Department in the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb.
"I feel very honored to represent Red Bluff Fire Department. The men and women who serve the City of Red Bluff are top notch and I'm just thankful to be part of such a great event at which I can represent my brothers and sisters," Ferguson stated as he was preparing for the climb Sunday afternoon.
This enormous climb is a competition in which firefighters, not only nationwide but from other countries, will take on 69 flights of stairs. An estimated 2,000 firefighters will master 1,356 steps in full turnout gear, including their air tank.
