Victims of a terrorist attack call for help while they wait in the radioactive Sleep Train Arena, former home of the Sacramento Kings. The victims were those who lost their homes and were being sheltered after a 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit the city.
It wasn’t real. But it might have been. At least that was the premise of the simulated, disaster training exercise.
The California National Guard 49th military police homeland response force planned the training and invited members from three FEMA National Urban Search and Rescue teams: California Task Force 3 — which is from Menlo Park — California Task Force 4 — which is from Oakland — California Task Force 7 — which is from Sacramento, along with California Office of Emergency Services, the FBI and several local law enforcement agencies worked together to help these “victims.”
