Forty people were displaced from their apartments Thursday night after a three-alarm fire ignited in the four-story complex, according to authorities.
About 60 San Mateo firefighters responded to the fire, which was reported at 10 p.m. at the Woodlake apartments, a 36-unit complex at 802 North Delaware Street. Firefighters arrived to the apartments within five minutes and had the blaze under control in 45 minutes, according to the San Mateo Fire Department.
