The Pasadena Fire Department has started using low-carbon fuel from renewable raw materials for much of its fleet. Neste, a Finnish company which has become the world’s leading supplier of renewable diesel, said in a statement Tuesday the Pasadena Fire Department plans to transition all of its remaining apparatus to renewable diesel by 2019. The department currently operates one truck, four engines and four rescue ambulances on renewable diesel called Neste MY Renewable Diesel, MY Renewable Diesel is produced from 100 percent renewable and sustainable raw materials, according to the statement.
