A three-alarm brush fire in Dan Foley Park kept Vallejo firefighters busy Thursday afternoon. Firefighters received a report at about 3 p.m. of smoke being seen from Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, said Vallejo fire spokesman Kevin Brown. The blaze scorched a hill between the park’s cultural center and a fence near Discovery Kingdom’s parking lot. Crews worked diligently to extinguish the fire which burned in an open area and in thick, dense brush. At one point, the fire reached a grouping of wood chip piles at the bottom of the hill. The mounds caught fire but didn’t extend any further. Brown said firefighters from Benicia and American Canyon assisted.
