Woolsey Fire puts estimated 15,858 homes, worth $26.6 billion, at risk

Kevin Sullivan, Orange County Register/SCNG) The Woolsey Fire is putting 15,858 homes worth $26.6 billion at risk, according to an estimate by real estate tracker Trulia. Two people have been killed by the fire in Los Angeles and Ventura counties, and 370 structures have been destroyed. Trulia says as of Monday morning, the median value of the homes on the perimeter of the fire is roughly $1.1 billion. CoreLogic, another housing market analyst, estimated some 16,996 homes with total reconstruction costs of $11 billion are in high-risk areas near the Woolsey Fire. Northern California’s Camp Fire, which has killed at least 29 people, is said to have destroyed some 6,713 structures in and around Paradise.
