Redlands has a new fire chief.
Nathan Cooke, who started Monday, Oct. 15, was introduced at the Tuesday, Oct. 16, city council meeting. introduced at the Tuesday, Oct. 16, city council meeting.
Cooke was hired to replace former Fire Chief Jeff Frazier, who retired in March after 42 years in the firefighting business, nine and a half of those in Redlands. Retired fire official Larry Waterhouse had then been hired to run the department during the search and hiring process.
Mayor Paul Foster introduced Cooke to a round of applause.
“I just want to say how incredibly humbled and honored I am to serve this great city,” Cooke said at the meeting, adding he was “looking forward to work with this great team that’s already been assembled.”
