Mental health experts say it can take a long time to get over a life shock, but it’s more than half a year since 2017’s first wildfire. There are residents of the Oroville foothills whose lives are nowhere near normal. Some aren’t on their properties, but feel they’re getting close. Others are stuck in the cleanup process, balancing getting work done with getting government approval. Yet others aren’t even trying. Leann Beck and her husband escaped July’s Wall Fire because they had a truck and vacation trailer which has turned into their main residence after they lost their home. Husband Mike is back at work at a job that takes him throughout Northern California. That leaves Leann Beck in charge of putting their life back together. In January, Leann had said her dream would be to be in their new mobile home by Valentine’s Day, but that didn’t happen. The home is on the property but still to be done is painting the interior, putting on the skirting, and dealing with carpeting.
