An early-morning fire that may have been started by a man cleaning his stove temporarily displaced dozens of residents of an affordable senior apartment complex in Norwalk on Tuesday and sent three people to hospitals, authorities said. The blaze was reported about 4:40 a.m. at the Soroptimist Village apartments on Foster Road near Bechard Avenue, sheriff’s Sgt. Manuel Flores said. The fire was quickly extinguished but three units were significantly damaged, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The Fire Department did not have a cause for the blaze, but Flores said deputies reported that a man may have started it while cleaning his stove. Two people were taken to hospitals with minor burns, he said, and one person was transported for treatment for smoke inhalation.
