The Brush Fire Department held a ceremony on Monday morning to retire the flag from the current fire garage. Department members, alongside citizens and veterans, watched two honor guard members lower and fold the flag, which will be cased and kept for historical purposes for the public. The current fire garage was built in 1981 and has structural problems that prevent the fire station from maximizing their effectiveness. Inefficiencies include small garage doors, limited room between trucks, trouble with heating and insulation and little infrastructure for a potential career-based department.
