VIDEO: Dozens of Colorado Springs firefighters made a passionate plea before city council Tuesday with the hope of improving their working conditions. The Colorado Springs Professional Firefighters Association, which is the union representing the city's firefighters, detailed it's desire for the ability to collectively bargain contracts with the city. The union is asking council to consider an agenda item that would place the measure on the ballot next April. Firefighters said Colorado Springs is severely lacking in the number of firefighters and fire stations in relation to the city's population and geographic size. They tell News 5 this agreement would make public safety a top priority in the city.
