Vernon firefighters on Wednesday responded to a second incident on Kelly Road since the weekend. On Wednesday firefighters were called to the Holiday Inn Express just before 8 p.m. A witness at the scene said firefighters were concentrating on the second floor. Guests were seen being evacuated to the parking lot near the main entrance. The scene was secured on about an hour, according to a witness, and the incident is under investigation. On Friday at 1:08 p.m., crews from Vernon and Tolland responded to 6 John St. in the Kelly Road Mobile home park for a residential structure fire.
