Fire Chief Harold “Buddy” Clark will retire early next month after nearly 40 years with the town. Clark’s retirement came after a lengthy and loud executive session of the Board of Fire Commissioners. The board voted unanimously in favor of retirement terms including benefits that must also be approved by the Town Council. Board Chairman Michael Bunko said the town was losing a very qualified man who would be difficult to replace. “It’s a tremendous loss to the department,” Bunko said. “He’s a true professional.” The board met with Clark for more than an hour in executive session after other business had been conducted Thursday night. During that time, yelling and obscenities were heard from the room.
