tudents are back inside Wethersfield High School after an earlier freon leak sparked an evacuation.
Michael T. Emmett, superintendent of schools, said about 11 a.m. that the leak has been plugged and students are back inside the school at 411 Wolcott Hill Road. No one was injured when the gas was released at roughly 9 a.m. All students are accounted for, Fire Capt. James Ritter said shortly before 9:30 a.m., and the leak has been stopped.
Representatives of the state Department of Energy & Environmental Protection were called to the school as a precaution, Ritter said.
Firefighters vented the building, Emmett said. .
