Davenport Ridge Elementary School has been reopened to teachers and administrators following a carpet cleaner spill that delayed the school’s opening Wednesday morning. At 9:06 a.m. police began escorting teachers and administrators before the children would be allowed in. Police are using bullhorns to call them into the school before the school is opened to the kids. Firefighters were dispatched to the Newfield Avenue school at 5:58 a.m., Stamford Fire Lt. Carl Alton said. One person at the school was taken away in an ambulance.
