Six apartments were damaged in a fire at a Monterey Place apartment complex Wednesday morning. The fire reported shortly before 7:30 a.m., sent tenants living in the Norwalk Housing Authority building into the cold. Assistant Fire Chief Steve Shay said the fire that started on the first floor, quickly through the 24-unit building. Three of the six apartments affected by the fire were declared to be unfit for occupancy. The Red Cross is assisting the people displaced by the blaze.
