The Morris Volunteer Fire Department announced Thursday that it would participate in an advisory committee tasked with resolving a long-standing dispute with town officials, which includes the future of money earned from its ambulance service. The committee was proposed by former First Selectman Edward Dorsett, who noted a series of goals for the body in a report presented to the Board of Selectmen Dec. 21. These include bolstering department membership, completing the application to return the right to conduct ambulance service in the town to the department — which the department relinquished in May — and addressing both current and future funds obtained through providing ambulance service in Morris.
