Firefighters and police responded Thursday morning to a fully-involved fire of a welder’s truck on the city’s East Side. Firefighters from Ladder 5 and Engine 1 were successful in extinguishing the smoky blaze before it reached tanks of compressed acetylene gas. The truck was parked on East Main Street near St. Micheal’s Roman Catholic Church. It was extinguished by 10:20 a.m., according to first responder dispatch reports. The truck was a total loss.
