According to a press release from Deputy Fire chief Patrick Tripodi the fire broke out at 4:23 p.m. and all the residents of the home at 63 Soundview Avenue got out before firefighters arrived. The first engine company arriving within three minutes of the alarm found a kitchen fire blazing in the rear of the two and one-half story wood-frame home. Multiple hose lines were stretched and the fire was brought under control by 4:49 p.m. Fire damage was limited to the kitchen, but there was smoke damage throughout the rest of the house. the release said.
