A fire that destroyed a backyard gazebo on a rainy night in Glenbrook this week may have been caused by a careless smoker, fire officials say. Assistant Fire Marshal Robert Sollitto said they cannot pinpoint the exact cause of the blaze that broke out in a gazebo on Oscar Street, but said the structure served as a smoking area for the entire family. Sollitto said considering someone also reported going out for a smoke about an hour before the fire broke out, he suspects an errant cigarette butt started the blaze.
