Troopers: Intentionally set fire at Southbury Training School

State Police are investigating a fire that was “intentionally set” in an abandoned building on the Southbury Training School property on Tuesday. Troop A barracks was notified at 5:53 p.m. of a fully involved structure fire in the building off of Village Road. Troopers and the Fire and Explosive Investigative Unit responded to the scene after a school employee saw the glow of the fire. “The fire was deemed to be intentionally set and Troop A along with our Fire Marshal’s unit are investigating the case and are looking for anyone with scene after a school employee saw the glow of the fire. “The fire was deemed to be intentionally set and Troop A along with our Fire Marshal’s unit are investigating the case and are looking for anyone with information on this.”
