PHOTO: This past Saturday, April 13th, the Milford Fire Department held an Open House/Demonstration at #55 Seeman’s Lane, our Training Facility. All members of the Board of Aldermen and Board of Fire Commissioners were invited to attend. With this event, we aimed to have an open dialogue and had the opportunity to demonstrate the many facets of what the modern-day fire service consists of. Many still think the fire service is simply “putting out fires” but in 2024, it is so much more than that. We truly are an “All Hazards Mitigation” service.
During this event, we had the opportunity to demonstrate a small sample of the disciplines for which we are responsible for.
We had an Extrication Scenario set up. With all the roadways we have passing through our City, I – 95, Route 15, the Feeder, Boston Post Rd, the frequency of accidents is a constant area we must respond to and mitigate.
