Fire officials say one person was hospitalized due to burns sustained in a house fire Thursday morning. Police said the fire occurred on the 200 block of Eldridge Street around 7:30 a.m. Upon arrival, fire crews found fire on the second floor of a single-family home. They reported bringing it under control in 10 minutes. One occupant sustained non-life threatening injuries - including “minor” burns - and was transported to a local hospital. No other injuries were reported. There were road closures in the area during the fire and police asked residents to avoid the area. The roads reopened just before 9 a.m. The Fire Marshal is investigating the cause and origin of the fire. The home was deemed uninhabitable for the time being and the Red Cross is assisting two displaced adult residents.
