Newark woman killed in Claymont crash that closed I-495 for hours

Delaware State Police have identified Yolanda Frank, 46, of Newark as the passenger of a vehicle involved in a Monday morning crash that was pronounced deceased upon arrival at Christiana Hospital. 12:26 p.m.--The four-vehicle crash north of the Philadelphia Pike interchange happened about 11 a.m. and involved a tractor trailer and closed the highway for roughly 4.5 hours before it reopened. A Delaware State Police helicopter and several New Castle County paramedic units joined with Claymont firefighters to rescue and treat the injured. The state police Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the scene and the northbound lanes of the interstate were closed for several hours. The investigation determined that a tractor trailer driven by an Elkton, Maryland man collided with stopped vehicles and caused several collisions.
