Carillon Woods Apartments is offering $10,000 for information that would lead to a conviction after one of its complexes in Long Neck was destroyed in a fire that officials are investigating as a criminal act of arson. The Delaware State Fire Marshal ruled late last month that the Nov. 8 fire in Long Neck, which resulted in an estimated $1.5 million in damages, was intentionally set. The Delaware State Fire Marshal is not involved with the reward, but the Sussex County division's chief deputy fire marshal, Harry Miller, supports the incentive. "If anybody saw anything suspicious, no matter how minute they might think it is, it gives us leads," Miller said. Delaware Crime Stoppers offers its own reward for tips — up to $1,000 — based on an arrest confirmed by the related agency. The fire, which occurred at about 9:22 p.m., destroyed the complex under construction on the 34000 block of Harvard Avenue in Long Neck — although the mailing address is Millsboro. Officials said shortly after the fire that no one was present in the complex.
