A teen was in critical condition after nearly drowning at a New Castle-area pool on the 4th of July. New Castle County Paramedics were called to the 200 block of Christiana Road. Upon arrival at 4:50 p.m., on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, paramedics observed a 15-year-old boy who had been rescued from a pool by a lifeguard. The lifeguard was performing CPR on the victim. Paramedics could not indicate long the teen was in the water before he was rescued. County paramedics worked alongside fire department and police personnel to resuscitate the victim before he was transported to Christiana Hospital's emergency room where, at last check, he remained critical.
