They are the children of three deceased Wilmington firefighters and each of them graduated from high school over the past week with a special cheering section in attendance from the Wilmington Fire Department.
Brendan Leach, son of Captain Christopher Leach, graduated from Salesianum High School and will attend St. Joseph's University.
Joshua Fickes, son of Lieutenant Jerry Fickes, graduated from The Charter School of Wilmington and is headed to the University of Southern California.
Alexis Lee, daughter of Lieutenant Ardythe "Ardy" Hope graduated from St. Elizabeth High School and is going to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore after signing a letter of intent to play volleyball.
