A family of three was left temporarily homeless after a damaging fire rolled through their home in Wilmington on Thursday night. City fire officials reported that "B platoon" firefighters were alerted to the structure fire, reported at 936 Kirkwood Street, shortly after 9 p.m., on May 3, 2018. Arriving units, who found fire showing from the second floor rear of the row home, confirmed that all of the occupants made it out of the residence. The ensuing fire attack, described as "aggressive" by officials, managed to contain the blaze to its origin. Subsequently, the incident commander, Battalion Chief Thomas Cunningham, placed the scene under control at 9:23 p.m.
