Passengers scrambled for safety as a bus parked at the I-95 travel plaza began burning late Wednesday. A handful of passengers were on the bus when the fire started shortly before 11 p.m., according to witnesses. All were believed to have escaped without injury. Sue Doanhuong, 27, said she and companions were heading from New York to home in North Carolina when the bus made a stop at the travel plaza. There was no indication of trouble as passengers disembarked to use the plaza, she said. Perhaps 5 or 7 passengers, like her, elected to stay onboard during the stop. "I choose to stay on the bus and sleep because I was so tried," Doanhuong said, and she continued to sleep. She said her immediate reaction to being startled awake was fear when a companion rousted her. "My legs were shaking when I was on the ground because it was terrible," Doanhuong said. Dozens of passengers were left stranded at the Biden Welcome Center, watching as crews from Christiana and Minquas fire companies extinguished the fire.
