Fire officials investigating cause of apartment complex fire in Long Neck

Fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that tore through Carillon Woods Apartments Thursday night in Long Neck, Delaware. According to the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, the apartment complex is still under construction and does not yet have an active sprinkler system. Indian River was assisted by Lewes, Millsboro, Milton, Rehoboth Beach, Georgetown, and Dagsboro fire departments, as well as BLS units and Sussex County Paramedics. The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the blaze. There were no injuries and heavy fire damage was estimated to exceed $1,500,000.
