Firefighters from Aetna Fire Company in Newark joined their colleagues from Cecil County in fighting a vacant house fire just west of the Maryland-Delaware border. The fire was reported Wednesday afternoon, September 12, 2018 on Brewster Bridge Road off of Appleton Road, across from Barksdale Road. The two-story structure was vacant and arriving firefighters from Singerly Fire Company of Elkton initially went with an exterior attack. Incident commanders did call for water tankers due to the scene to water supply issues. There were no reports from the scene of any injuries.
