Megan O'Donnell Clements, convinced her husband was about to die, couldn't help but scream when his truck blew up Sunday morning after catching fire at their house on Milltown Road.
He had just run outside to move their other cars away from the burning truck when she heard a loud "boom!"
"I cannot explain to you the feeling of terror in words that will do it justice," O'Donnell Clements said on Facebook afterward. "And I'm certain that my kids will never forget the gut-wrenching scream that came from my mouth."
The Milltown family learned Sunday that even a relatively small fire can be terrifying.
It also has O'Donnell Clements giving thanks for the small things in life. Even minor annoyances can seem like blessings after a tragedy, she said. "There are, admittedly, times that I still lose focus on the good things in life," she told friends and family on Facebook Sunday morning.
