Port of Wilmington worker critically hurt at Citrosuco plant

An accident at the Port of Wilmington sent one worker to the hospital Wednesday afternoon. Shortly after 1:30 p.m. on January 9, 2019, a 30-year-old worker fell approximately 50 feet, off of scaffolding, while cleaning and refurbishing a storage container, announced Wilmington Fire Chief Michael Donahue. Fire and New Castle County Paramedics converged on the scene and administered advanced emergency medical care before the man was taken to Christiana Hospital by way of ambulance. The status of the worker is unknown, and New Castle County Paramedics were not available for comment.
