Panama City Beach Council members and Fire Rescue staff honored Battalion Chief Joe Cocco Thursday morning. Cocco will be retiring next month. He joined PCB Fire Rescue in October 1985, more than 30 years ago. He was promoted to Battalion Chief in November of last year. Much of the department came out to support him. "Fire fighting was always my passion and fire prevention," said Cocco. "The kind words that Mayor Thomas said are very true. This is a very emotional time for me. But I must tell you we've come a long way since 1985." Cocco's last day will be October 3rd.
