Four pets died and more than a dozen people lost their homes in a fire Thursday evening at an apartment complex. According to the City of Bradenton Fire Department, firefighters responded to a fire at the Sun Chase Apartments in the 6000 block of 30th Avenue West at about 6:30 p.m. Firefighters found smoke and flames showing from multiple apartments. The fire was under control by 6:45 p.m. No people were injured, though four pets were lost. Seventeen residents were displaced and assisted by the Red Cross. Total property damage was estimated at $400,000.
