Flames broke out at a popular restaurant in Cedar Key from a lit cigarette bud that had been smoldering for hours. Cedar Key Fire Rescue responded to the fire at Steamers restaurant after the fire alarms went off a little after 9:00 pm but, found employees from Duncan's restaurant next door had already extinguished the fire before firefighters arrived on the scene. Fire officials said one of Duncan's employees climbed the neighboring wall to gain access to the fire, while others filled up buckets and passed them over so the employee could douse the fire. Fire officials said the cigarette bud had been lit for two to three hours and with the wind, it caught the wood on fire.
