Three people are recovering from injuries they sustained while evacuating a burning home. Crews with the Tallahassee Fire Department arrived at the home in the 3500 block of Lakewood Drive to find flames coming from the roof of the house. Crews extinguished the blaze while additional firefighters conducted a search of the building and determined that no one was still inside. TFD says five people were in the home when the fire started. Three of them were taken to the hospital for treatment. The fire department has not described the extent of their injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Tallahassee Police Department, Leon County EMS, City of Tallahassee Utilities and the American Red Cross all assisted.
