The Florida Highway Patrol reports a vehicle fire occurred on Interstate 75 northbound in Charlotte County, near mile marker 152. Charlotte County Fire and EMS responded Thursday morning and confirmed one person was found dead at the scene. Local Charlotte County firefighters were deployed to extinguish the vehicle fire at approximately 7 a.m. The details of the fire are currently being investigated. As of 10:20 a.m., the right two lanes have been reopened for normal traffic flow.
